One of our heros is celebrating a special day today. It's our daughter Kaitlin. She's pictured here in her first graduation from Kindergarden at St. Paul's in Sault Ste. Marie but she has had many more since then. Next was Grade 8 at Our Lady of Peace in Maple (north of Toronto), then St. Joan of Arc High School, also in Maple, then University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science then York with a Masters in Political Science.

Today we are celebrating Kaitlin's latest graduation with her Juris Doctor law degree from Osgoode. Of course the work is not done yet since she is in the middle of studying for the Bar exam, having written one half 2 weeks ago and the next half this coming week.

Kaitlin is our hero because she works so hard to achieve her goals - often (and lately with the Bar) studying 10 to 16 hours a day with only a short break for lunch and dinner and ALWAYS, a break at 10:00 at night to sit down with the rest of us for an hour of TV to unwind. After all this, she's still as bright and cheerful and fun to be with as she appears in this picture of her first graduation.

Congratulations Kaitlin!!! Good things for those put in the effort and very few people put in the effort that you do.  We're so proud of you and all that you accomplished.

When Kailin was about 6 years old, somehow we got to talking about what she wanted to be when she grew up. She said in her still childish voice, but in very eloquent diction at the time, "I don't know what I want to be, but I know I want it to be 'important'" The funny thing is Kaitlin, while you continue to achieve great things, you were important since the day you were born.

Love forever, Mom and Dad
