Little did we know our lives would change on September 21, 2009. Our foster co-ordinator at the Boston Terrier Rescue asked if we would be able to foster this little guy. Marty was found roaming the streets of Toronto when Toronto Animal Services picked him up and soon after, he became part of our Rescue. After having four foster pups come and go, I wasn't sure if my husband would approve of another tenant. Well, when we saw the heart-breaking picture of Marty we just knew we had to help him.
After fostering Marty for five months, we saw something special in him we couldn't part with and on February 24, 2010, he was adopted. He has enriched our lives in so many ways. One being his acute sensitivity to his environment and to those around him which has made him something of an emotional barometer. Marty needs a calm, smooth environment at all times and if things get rocky - he’ll let us know. He and Lola (our first BT) are like most brothers and sisters, scrapping from time to time. Pretty normal. I believe Lola likes her new brother and we just can’t imagine life without Marty.
He’s been a wonderful addition to our family. It’s amazing how the dogs that come in to our lives are the ones we need. He’s a very special little guy. I’m not really saying Marty was the reason, but let’s say he gave us a bit of a nudge. After eleven years of living on a ridiculously busy corner in Toronto, we moved to a stress-free, tranquil home in Burlington. Sometimes our pets help us realize what is best for us and it was time for my husband and I to make that change. It was a very stressful year, but now that we’re here, we’re home, at last.

Its great of you to take in this little guy but then again, he seems quite irresistible so I'm not sure you had a choice. We have had 2 dogs since moving to Toronto, Lance, who passed away a couple of years ago and Giddeon pictured in this link... http://www.kamazooie.com/photo/giddeon-park?context=latest
They are much more than pets, aren't they? They're really immediate family members. Maybe we'll try adopting a rescue dog as our next. Its great that you, Marty and your husband found each other.
