The Empire State Building - Arguably one of the most recognizable buildings in the world, the Empire State Building tour is New York City's most popular features. Standing at a remarkable 1,472 feet, the building offers visitors the best views of the city. The Empire State Building was constructed and designed by William Lamb of the Shreve, Lamb & Harmon firm. During its construction, it was at the center of a battle between Walter Chrysler (Chrysler Building) and John Jakob Raskob (of General Motors) to see who could build the tallest building. Though both buildings were completed before the Empire State Building, the Chrysler and the GM buildings only held the title of worlds tallest very briefly. Since its completion in May 1931 up until the 1972 when the World Trade Center was finished, the Empire State Building was once again the tallest building in New York and the 9th tallest in the world.

Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island - The Statue of Liberty tour is undoubtedly the most recognizable and important monument in New York City. Not only does it represent the city, but it also symbolizes the freedoms and the values of our whole country. Often referred to as "Lady Liberty," the statue was constructed in France by Frederic Bartholdi. The premise behind "Lady Liberty" was that France wanted to present the United States with a gift commemorating its 100 years since the Declaration of Independence 1776. However, due to delays in construction, the statue missed its July 4, 1876 deadline. In August of 1885, "Lady Liberty" was brought over to New York City, deconstructed into 350 individual pieces and stored in 214 crates.

Metropolitan Museum of Art (Central Park) - A must for art lovers, the museum contains permanently over two million works of art, ancient and modern, from all over the world as well as American paintings and sculpture as well as featured specialist exhibitions.

Museum of Modern Art - As you might expect, the exhibits here are not restricted to paintings, drawings and sculpture but include film and media, photography and architecture and design.

Conjointly, they are famous for its stellar New Year's Eve celebration. All that you have to do is, just buy an all access pass, and you will have right of entry to multiple parties throughout Times Square, free drinks all night long and an in-person view of the giant ball dropping at midnight.

Shopping - New York is renowned for its shopping, particularly at Christmas, when it takes on a magical quality. Fifth Avenue is THE place to shop in New York. All the big names are here including, of course, Saks Fifth Avenue and Trump Tower.

See a show on Broadway - Broadway is the street in New York which means "theater" to most people so seeing a show here is essential. There are only four theaters actually ON Broadway, which only covers the twelve blocks from West 41st Street to West 53rd Street but there are plenty more east and west of here.
