Greetings Members!!!
Here is a beautiful post from a blogger named Micah Baldwin on Medium which is another blogging site like Kamazooie for users to tell there stories and share their experiences. Its a post about his grandmother who lived a great life and loved telling stories about it to anyone who would listen.

Micah completes his beautiful story about his grandmother, the story-teller with the following:
"My grandmother taught me that storytelling is endemic to us as humans. It’s how we relate, how we remember, how we teach, how we celebrate our humanity. Yet, we don’t share our stories with others because we fear their reaction.
The truth is that all of our stories matter and are filled with connection. Your viewpoints are necessary; your sharing improves people around you.
Share them. Tell them over donuts, or write a blog post. Or call your mom.
Don’t lock them inside and refuse their desire to see the sun."
I think this is a beautiful sentiment regarding sharing. Sites like Kamazooie and Medium are warm and accepting communities that allow you to share your experiences without fear that anyone thinking they are not good enough or that you used a comma when you should have used a semicolon.
Please share your experiences, they are the life-blood of who we are and who we know or have known.
Happy New Year to all of you. Maybe make it your goal to tell at least one of your greatest stories in a blog this year :-D <3 <3
Good repost Amanda. I really liked Micah's story, I would have loved to meet his grandmother. This post got me thinking about the benefits of story-telling and I came across this post.

Not only does story-telling create our "legacy" it also has a huge impact on whether people will want to follow us and work with us. It is definitely a powerful art that I think we're losing in these days of media filled mostly short quips and comments. I do however like the idea of small experience sharing with a picture like on Instagram. I think this helps us connect with friends and keep them involved in our lives even though they can't be with us physically.
Thanks for sharing, and thank you Micah for the great story about your 'Babu'.
Agree with Martin - this is a great post, Amanda!
This is what life is all about. Creating memorable moments from which you can tell the story. Micah ends off on a great note encouraging all of us to show our stories - be it over a donut or a blog.
My small act on that is that over Christmas, I gave my mother (now 86) a gift of a white - empty leather bound book - with a simple request: "write down and tell us all the stories you and dad created over your lifetime together. This you will give back to the family - as your gift of legacy to all of us." I hope to share some of these stories with our Kamazooie community - in time.
Heart warming & touching piece - Micah!
I love Micah's posting. It definitely shows the value of a life well lived and the need to pass these stories on. Charles, what a great idea to give your mom this place to journal her life stories. I look forward to reading them.
